Vintage Large 13 Drawer Engineers Cabinet Moore & Wright Wooden Tool Chest. Here is a lovely old, very rare and large engineers tool cabinet. It's just the most fabulous thing and perfect for engineers, architects, toolmakers, watchmakers, jewellers and collectors. Larger than normal tool chests, this toolmakers box sports 13 drawers and two cubby holes.

Double doors on the front which have had replacement hinges fitted at some time and it looks like there was once a lock present but that has been removed. Easily replaced I would think if required? There are two internal bolts on the left door (not original), and a twist latch to hold the right hand door closed. All the drawers are in good order and the handles are all present. The baize inside the drawers is in pretty good shape and in my opinion there's no rush to replace it but that's personal choice of course.

The original handle is in very good order, very strong and robust. I would say that the box dates from the 1940's/50's.

I can tell you that it was owned at one time by a Royal Air Force engineer who worked on the very early jet aircraft. Thats only anecdotal as I cant verify that, just history handed down by word of mouth. It has been a working tool box all its life and as such there are various repairs and modifications which only add to the charm and history. It's a large box so it will be perfect for serious engineers and collectors. Loads of room for tools!
