Vintage Union Engineers Wooden Toolmakers Chest Box 5 Drawer Cabinet needs tlc

  

It will benefit from a little tlc mainly to remove the dirt and grime from the top and to replace the runners for the drawers as they are a hard plastic and as can be seen in the many close ups they have broken on the ends probably as a result of having to much wait in the drawers over the years. Otherwise It is in pretty fair condition for its age as per the many pics and still has the original carrying handle which has a couple of cracks in the leather and may benefit from a little dubbing however it still supports the cabinet in transit perfectly and it does have all of the original knobs on the drawers which are still lined with the original beige. The key was lost so cannot currently lock the cabinet but that could easily be remedied by getting a locksmith to cut a key for it if desired. It has dovetail joints on the frame and is a sturdy box. The Cabinet measures approx: 46cm / 18" wide, 22cm / 9" deep and 30cm / 12 high.

This English made tool chest is around 50 years old and already has had one lifetime of engineering usage and hopefully will get to be used for another 50 years to come. The chest will suit Engineers looking for somewhere to house their equipment or someone who likes to tinker and bring things back to life or will sit in a Classic car workshop comfortably as it is, or artists, needleworkers, watchmakers and any crafts person for storing there equipment. Will also make a fabulous present for any Engineer worth his salt! Local collection is from B74 3HP as is any inspection.
