The drawers are all in good condition and the felt that lines the drawers is showing wear in places but there are plenty of photo's so you can judge for yourself its what i think is lovely original condition. The door is a little stiff on opening being a really snug fit and. Use the key to pull it out and the second of the top 2 smaller drawers on the left is also a little snug but the cabinet has sat in my garage which is unheated for many years so im sure keeping it in a slightly warmer environment will soon loosen everything up.
The door also has a little bit out of it just by the lock where many years ago I presume a screwdriver was put in to try and force the lock when the owner wasn't around some people have always tried to get tools that dont belong to them! And again this can be seen in some of the pics. It has one original key with it and please study all of the 24 pics as they form a major part of the listing description.
The Cabinet measures 43cm / 17" wide, 22cm / 8½" deep and 29cm / 11. This English made tool chest is around 55 years old and already has had one lifetime of engineering usage and hopefully will get to be used for another 55+ years to come. The chest will suit Engineers looking for somewhere to house their equipment or someone who likes to tinker and bring things back to life or will sit in a Classic car workshop comfortably as it is, or artists, needleworkers and any crafts person for storing there equipment.
Will also make a fabulous present for any Engineer worth his salt! Local collection is from B74 3HP as is any inspection.
